The Lewis
Australia Packaging system is a flexible
system which handled photographic paper rolls from
170mm to 330mm diameter. |

The system was designed to
package a customer roll every 4 seconds. |

The challenge was to handle a product that was
sensitive to bruising, light and chemical contact
with certain materials, in widely variable roll
sizes and widths. |

The resulting system, which was designed to meet
the challenges listed above, is robust and
innovative. |

The system was designed with
the following features: |

- Low impact on the product to avoid damages.
Reduction of rejects.
- Ergonomically designed to operate with
operators in a dark room environment.
- Handles twice the production volume of the
existing line.
- The contact surfaces of the system were made
of chemically inert soft materials to avoid
damaging the product.
